CALL OUT FOR CREATIVE WRITERS/LINGUISTS TO TAKE PART IN A
September 26, 2017
I am a London based dance artist and movement educator with an extensive experience in performing in various settings ranging from theatre to movies and arts exhibitions. In the last few years I have deepened my interest in somatic practices and since 2015 I have been studying on the Certification programme in Laban Bartenieff Movement Studies (LBMS).
For my final Certification Project entitled ‘Embodying and Re-Patterning Translation Choices Through the Performative Process’, I am looking for a creative writer/linguist to collaborate with.
The writer/linguist will be required to creatively collaborate in the initial and final stages of the project over a period of three months. After being selected, the successful candidate will be asked to write a poem or short piece on the theme ‘Change and Progression’. This will be added to the LIMS’ archive for training purposes only; any public use would be discussed and agreed upon with the writer. The second part of the project will actively involve the writer in a movement and creative writing workshop.
The successful candidate must/will:
-have extensive experience in writing (poems, short stories, life writing, etc.) and knowledge of the principles of translation
-have a keen interest in multiculturalism and/or foreign languages
-be willing to experiment with new forms of writing and inter-disciplinarity
-be curious about performing arts and/or any contemporary art form
-be available to undertake a 3 hour movement workshop possibly in mid November (Date TBC)
-be available for an initial 30 to 40 mins Skype conversation for details on the collaboration (by the 10th of October)
